Chris (December 2000 - February 20001)

Dream: I was in a castle walking down a wood paneled hallway off which were numerous rooms. As I walked down the hall a white bird would fly out of one of the rooms and lead me down to a stone chamber at the end of the hall. The stone chamber had a barred window and a large drain grate in the floor. The bird would fly and sit on the shoulder of a dark suited faceless cadaver which hung from a noose above the grate. The wrists and ankles of the body had been slashed open from which poured large amounts of blood. I could hear the blood running down the drain and over the stone floor. At this point the whole thing would restart and I would be walking down the hall again where a different bird would fly from a different room and lead me to the same stone room where there would be another body hung over the grate, a different body replacing the last one. A different coloured suit but always dark in shade and always there was no face just a big round of featureless skin where the face should be. I was in the dream first hand and also at the same time I was watching the whole thing as if I was a spectator watching myself and waiting looking for some reaction that never occurred. The dream kept on restarting and continued until I woke. Each time there was more and more blood until it poured like a torrent down the drain and gathered on the floor. It was an extremely vivid experience and even now I can still see the colours and the grain in the wood, hear the sound of wings flapping, the sound of blood pouring even the smell of the blood and the smell of the wood paneling.

And the second dream is a bit stranger. I was walking in a suburb that was familiar to me and all the houses are big and grand, but the suburb has a dark or gray feel to it, but I'm not scared or anything its just dull. Then a big dog came and bit me. It was oddly clamped to me around the area of my mouth. And I just couldn't get this dog off. I was screaming hysterically and I was very frightened. An old couple were walking by and I was pleading to them to help me get the dog off. But they tried to avoid me, like they didn't want to help me. I kept pleading to them. And I asked at least hold my hand and get me home. And they reluctantly the old lady agreed and held my hand till I got home. I got home and my uncle told me who the dog belonged to. It belonged to a wealthy vet, who had a chain of vet clinics. So I go to tell her what had happened and to show her my scars. To get there I had to travel a fair distance, I walked a bit and again the area I was walking in was familiar and I also took a bus. When I get there, I see she is very busy, but I manage to get to see her. I tell her what happened and she isn't apologetic, she isn't anything, just complacent I guess. So I'm a bit upset she doesn't do anything but I just go on and forget about it.

Quentin's Diagnosis: Dear Chris, The environment of your dream is a Castle, which is your true home. You sound like an extraordinary person with a true gift but perhaps this gift is more a burden to you and not a freedom. The various rooms are facets of yourself. The white bird is a symbol of your soul leading you to the end of the hall. In this dream, your soul has to deal with the dark side of life. Death and looking at the constant fear of it. The dark suited cadaver relate to loss of life, the blood of life forces running away. Walking down the hall again, the smells, sight and sounds pertain to prophecy, inner knowing. Your soul is restless. Consistency of life is the consistency of death. The only constant thing in the universe is change. Donšt let this reality be depressing, let it be up-lifting.
