Remembering your dreams
With dream recall, take your dreams seriously and ask yourself when you wake up ‘what did you dream?’. Don’t have an alarm clock blaring or get caught up in the day’s thought process first, as it makes it harder to remember. Make a decision to record the dreams you have. Establish a dream diary in which you can record your dreams, perhaps a tape or dictaphone kept in a convenient location beside your bed so you can easily record your dreams as soon as you wake. Quentin keeps her dream diary beside the bed for easy access. Sometimes you’ll find yourself awake in the middle of the night and recall a dream. Some write it down, others try to re-enter the dream where they left off. If you’re too tired to write, in the middle of the night, then think about the dream you had before you go back to sleep. This will help you to recall that dream in the morning. Any dream snippets you recall are worth writing down. Keep them until you work out what message they hold for you.
