Dream:
I am a male person very much in control in a room with 2 other persons. One of the persons is being held captive and forced to watch. I am in charge of the whole scenario eating an apple whilst the other person, a male also is going to bite and eat into my arm. I concentually give him my arm and he starts to take huge bites out of it and eat, I am in no pain and am enjoying what he is doing and seeing the male hostage freaking out by what he's seeing. In the next scene half of my upper and chest area is eaten away revealing muscle, veins and red meat. All this while I am happily eating my apple.
Interpretation:
Thanks for sending such an interesting dream. Although it shocked you when you recalled it in your waking life, none of the actions in the dream seemed shocking as you were dreaming them. Often dreams have various layers and this one seems to fit the pattern of a multi layered dream.
Firstly your normal sleep patterns were interrupted with the week of night shift. At work you are in control and so too, in your dream.You are in the room with two men you are in control and eat an apple while being forced into watching another man being held captive. In a way, all these men are aspects of yourself. The one held captive by another. i.e. your work situation, where we are in some way held captive by our employer while we are at work and also by our families and loved ones as we do the things we do to provide for them. On night shift you can feel as if you have sole control of the whole area and can do what you might not do when other employees are around such as eat on the job. The physical aspects of shift work can eat away your personal time, as well as your normal levels of energy and aliveness.
Scientists have also shown us that although fruit and veg do not cry out when we pick or eat them they do emit an energy. Alone you are more sensitive to these subtle energies and as you eat the apple just as Adam did you become aware i.e. eat of the tree of knowledge. Gaining an understanding of good and evil. In fact you are willingly allowing yourself to be eaten just as the apple is. There is also a sense of power over others as you are aware the hostage is freaking out by what he sees. Also when you reflect on this dream this hostage part of you is also freaking out. Do not remain too horrified by this clever dream. we all give our heart drive and incentive to the work we do and it comes from the muscular level.
You red blooded males take your roles in life very seriously and perhaps your higher self wants you to integrate all these aspects of yourself. Your true personal power, willingness to give of yourself and your time, in exchange for the means to nurture yourself. Happily eating the apple is symbolic of the personal inner learning and gaining of wisdom all jobs give us the opportunity to experience. Watch your energy levels and heart and lungs especially if you are not as fulfilled in this particular job as you could be wasting time and energy for too small a return.
