This dream was very very powerful...and I am presently sculpting the snake in clay to help me understand what my subconscious is trying to tell me. Here goes....
Dream: I am standing near a desk transfixed by a snake. The snake is cobra like and it is wrapped around a woman's right forearm. She is sitting at a desk doing paperwork. She is not concerned about the snake. It is as though she wears the snake as a bracelet. The snake is hissing at me, really going for it. The woman says "gee the snake's having a go at you today" and she keeps on with her paper work. (This woman runs the gym that I attend. I see her as a woman who sets her mind to doing things and gets them done. She manages the gym and is a Reiki master, teaching Reiki as well.) The snake spits some venom at me. It lands on my face. Next I am in another room. Two people are there, one of whom is a counseling colleague who is very warm and empathic in reality. This colleague helps me wash the venom off. I think to myself, I could get sick with this venom on me. I check inside, and note I feel a little sleepy, not sick and I know I will be all right. Then I wake up, overwhelmed by the power of the dream. I don't recall feeling scared of the snake, I actually love snakes- I love their graceful movement and they have such strong energy. I have a deep reverence for them. I think this dream has a message for me.
Quentin's Diagnosis: This dream is telling you, YOU CAN BE YOURSELF. The snake is a very strong, prophetic and karmic symbol. See 'Snake' in 'Dream Reference' (A-Z) 'S'. You may be a doubting prophet. One who feels guilty of their gift and let others justify to you that their power and ability is far greater than yours. You have your own method of prophecy and intuitiveness through your dreams and should give them more credibility and not feel guilty that you're not doing as much as the Reiki master. Competitiveness is in our nature. Don't feel mocked by this venom. Your colleague helps you wash to venom off. This is someone in tune with you. Don't undermine your own insights or visions and stop trying to be something you're not. your snake is unique. It is the symbol of unique wisdom. The other woman is expressing hers through Reiki. What's yours? Get on with your own stuff and stop comparing yourself to other's achievements.
