Dream: I had a dream last December that I was fishing alone along a river bank. The weather was fine and the environment was very peaceful. I was casting my lure into the centre of the stream when it got caught in some river weed. This annoyed me. As I was unable to dislodge it. I kept pulling on my line and by doing do so pulled the weed towards me exposing a wooden chest just below the surface of the water. I decided to walk through the water to retrieve the chest as the river was very shallow (just above the knees).
I brought the chest to the river bank and broke the lock. The chest was opened up to reveal 5 small draws. When I pulled out the first draw I saw the most beautiful necklace full of precious stones. The clasp was closed as I lifted it up and after admiring its beauty, I placed my left hand through it's hoop and let it sit over my left forearm. I continued to look through the remaining 4 draws. Each draw revealed an even more beautiful necklace. I was filled with joy and excitement. I could not believe I had come across such a treasure. I was already deciding on what to do with the jewels (taking out some stones to make a nice pair of earrings) I started to think of how the chest got there and then experienced a sense of sadness and guilt because I thought that these necklaces must belong to some-one who would be missing them terribly. I decided to take the chest to the local police station and declare them. If the owner could not be found, then they would belong to be guilt free.
When I arrived the police showed a lot of interest in the jewels and immediately informed me to leave the jewels with them (they would take care of it). I knew that the law stated that if the jewels were not claimed within 30 days, I could keep them but as the police had not shared this information with me, my instinct told me that they were going to keep the jewels for themselves and had no intention of doing the right thing. I told them that there was a claim form I could fill in making them aware that I knew my rights and this displeased them but they did supply me with the form. I filled in the form and woke up. It left me frustrated because I did not get the answer to whether the jewels were now mine or if the owner had been located. This dream has plagued me ever since. Could you shed some light on this.
Quentin's Diagnosis:Your dream is to do with your personal freedom. There you are, fishing amongst the reeds in the river of life. You have your health and well-being and are casting a line of opportunity out to see what bites. The chest signifies something ancient, symbolic and the 5 drawers, five is the number of personal freedom. The jewels are yours and could have come from the aspect of the five most important feminine lifetimes of your past. You do the right thing by taking them to the police as your integrity has to be clear for you to take hold of your jewels, guilt-free.
