Dream: My dreams are often like soap operas. I was walking in my swimmers with running shoes and socks. Whenever I run it is always barefoot. I was in Marrickville, near where I grew up. I was outside a house/shop and there was a sign that said Art/Cartoons Gallery. I walked in with my mother and uncle. my mum recognized the owner as a doctor who wanted to change professions. the gallery was an old house with the wall stripped bare to look rustic with the painting unframed on the walls. They were quite amateurish, with no real style but my mother and uncle liked then because they were impressed that this fellow was a doctor so they had to be good because he was an educated man. When I went to give my opinion stating that I has experience in the art world which I had I was shouted down, I said fine if that is the way you feel I am leaving. I left the gallery still in my swimmers and joggers. I also had loose coins down my swimmers, 5 & 10 cent coins. I went to a fruit shop to change the coins for 20 & 10 cent pieces to carry less coins they were counted out and I found I had less money than I though. there in the shop was a fellow - like an old Greek man (my nationality) who was standing next to me and was going to say something but he walked out. I followed him to another place somewhat like a cafe and I asked him what it meant? He said that the Key master is taunting you and you fell into his trap. What do you mean I asked. he said look what happened at the gallery. You got mad and walked away. You knew what happened in the gallery I said. Yes he said I know everything. I said I didn't get mad I made a comment and walked out. The old man said that is what I mean. You should not have answered and say nothing to command the situation. I asked by why has the Key master always got it in for me? What have I done wrong in life. I'm allowed an opinion. He replied he did not know. Maybe a type of jealousy. I left to run home to where I lived as a boy.
Quentin's Diagnosis: This dream shows that you are totally comfortable being yourself and have a casual approach. You walk into a gallery with your mother and uncle. Your mother recognizes the Doctor, who wanted to change professions. You could see that the artwork was quite amateurish whereas your mother liked it...it had to be good because this doctor was an educated man. Your mother and uncle are impressed by the Doctor's opinions, yet you who has the experience in the art world, were shouted down. It's clear, you're not getting the RESPECT you think you deserve. Your family cannot understand your area of expertise. So you walk out. Still comfortable with yourself and with loose change in your pocket, you go to a fruit shop to change coins. You want to please your family and piers, but unless you own your own experience you won't be happy in life. Don't hold your breath for compliments from your family or your piers because they won't come to the aid of your party. To get a degree in a field that others can grasp would not be you. You are more impassioned. They are them and you are different. The coins (5c & 10c) says about your family that they were given 5 for intelligence and you have 10. Double the intelligence. You should thank your family for that. You're feeling short changed in society. Carry less baggage. Respect yourself first and make the most of yourself. Don't just get mad and walk away. The Key master was taunting you, getting through to the core of your beliefs. Say nothing. Yes we are allowed to hold opinions but blaming and having to find justification for the incidents occurring in your life is not the way. You left to run home to where you lived as a boy, which says you're going back to your childhood in some way. Going back to your childhood, ask yourself if you ever had the thought - "I'm not right, there's something wrong with me?". You are special and can continue to be comfortable with who you are.
