SAMANTHA

Dream: I dreamt that I was a slave in an ancient time. We were grimy, bare foot and in ragged clothes. There was a group of us and we had a very mean slave master. We were rounded up and were given a challenge for freedom. We were given dry rice to jam into the soles of our feet and the palms of our hands, kinda like when you have a stone in your shoe embedded in the skin of your feet. Then we had a very short amount of time to run from the centre of town to the docks to jump on a boat before it sailed. The catch was you could only get on the ship if you still had rice embedded in your hands and feet. I thought this was impossible as we had to run barefoot though cobblestone streets. So we started running for our lives. I was running with a group of people that were dear to me. As the boat came into site, the friends that I was with fell and I was torn between helping them or to keep running. They told me to go and I reluctantly kept running, though I really didn't expect to have rice left in my hands or feet. So I made the boat and was allowed on because I had rice left!

The boat was small and there was just enough room for the 15 or so people that made it. Then the evil slave master became kinda of nice. People were asking where we were going and he said I'll show you a picture, he pulled out a photo album (even though the era was in was pre cameras), and showed us pictures of America in the wild west pioneering era. We were all happy and looking forward to getting there. Our journey was great as the weather and ocean was peaceful. had my boyfriends’ expensive digital camera and I was taking pictures of the great, grand ancient cities we were passing along the way. Some gleaming white, Taj mahal like but on a city scale and some like the ancient Roman empires. (This part, seeing the ancient cities and being in the one we left, I enjoyed.) Then the weather turned and we were a tiny little boat in huge waves. The first smallish wave hit us and we all got drenched. I was upset because I was able to save the camera. After the first wave I was the only one facing a huge wave that was coming straight for us. I tried to warn others but it curled over us and engulfed us. We all fell out of the boat. I didn't seem to be scared of the waves, though I knew we now wouldn't' get to America. That's about the end.

Quentin's Diagnosis: Your dream is showing you a lot about your past-lifetime. It sounds like it may have been triggered by stories of the plights of the many refugees trying to enter Australia, escaping by boat in search of freedom and a safe land. This present day connection could have reminded you of what you went through in a past-life and you symphathise with their need for freedom. We wonder what you were before you were captured? The slave trade of olden times had people migrating from Asia to the Americas. These were boat people and they were desperate times. In your dream, you were in the group of slaves that were rounded up and given a challenge for freedom - the chosen ones. It could be your higher-self is saying hey, what about me, my feelings are being neglected, as the reason you see yourself in slavery. You take the challenge and with the rice under your feet, you sow the seeds on your path of life. Getting a stone in your shoe is to keep you humble and letting stones in, is oppression. As you were running to the boat, you meet up with your friends, who didn't have the strength to escape or weren't so lucky, but they support you. You arrive at the boat and they allow you freedom. A change of direction is coming your way and it's not how you get there, but just embarking on the adventure. Know that people will see you differently and you will enjoy the journey. Although there are no digital cameras ever recorded in those times, you've managed in your dream, to access these conventional means and take them back in time with you, to be a lasting memory of your trail-blazing of course. You are a survivor. This dream is telling you to prepare for a change or take on a challenge. Humility is the lesson here and having compassion for boat people.
